OTAGO RECORD BROKEN

JUNIOR SWIMMER'S PERFORMANCE At the Municipal Baths last night, Miss Ngairc Lane, of the Kiwi Amateur Swimming Club, was successful in lowering the Otago junior girls’ 50yds back stroke record by 2 2-ssec, in a special attempt. Miss Lane, who is the New Zealand junior girls’ 50 and 100yds free, style champion, was timed in 06 4-ssoc for 50yds back stroke, which was only a second outside the New Zealand record held by Miss Betty Owens, of Auckland. The previous Otago record of 09 1-osec was held by Miss Edna Ooldthorpe, of the Kiwi Club. Mr IV. A. Jenkins acted ns starter, Mr D. E. Watson was the referee, Messrs A. Creig, C, J.
