OTAGO ASSOCIATION HATCHES CCHMEN6I ON OCTOBER 12 A meeting of the committee of the Otago Lawn Tennis Association was held last night, when there were present Messrs A. M'Millan (in the chair), E. D. Duthie, S. Falconer, G. I. Black, A. T. Jensen, H. C. Scrivener, A. Chisholm, R. A. Morrison, T. Grimsdale, E. G. Ruhen, G. H. Jolly, and E. Swete. . The following sub-committees were appointed;— Competitions.—Messrs A. T. Jensen (convener), E. D. Duthie, G. H. Jolly, E. Swete, and H. C. Scrivener. Selection. —Messrs A. T. _ Jensen (convener), G. I. Black, T. Grimsdale, E. G. Ruhen, and A. Chisholm. Sole selector for major matches, Mr A. T. Jensen. Handicapping.—Messrs S. D. Duthie (convener), H. Sherriff, R. A Morrison, G. l I. Black, S. Falconer, and E. G. Ruhen. Finance. —Messrs A. M'Millan (convener) and E. G. Ruhen. Ranking Ladder.—Messrs T. Grimsdale (convener), E. D. Duthie, and A. T. Jensen. Works. —Messrs S. Falconer (convener), R. Phillipps, R. A. Morrison. W. Sherriff, and E. Swete. United Club and Tea Rooms.—Messrs S. Falconer (convener), E. Swete, T. Grimsdale, R. A.. Morrison, and Miss M. Kerr. Coaching.—Messrs E. Swete and G. H. Jolly. , It was resolved, that Mr 1. Brooks he reappointed coach and that all arrangements be left in the hands of the Coaching Committee. Rules to govern club matches and the Cleghorn and Walker Cup matea.es were referred to the Competitions Committee to act. It was resolved that matches be commenced on October 12. It was decided to hold the M'Millan Cup tourney on Saturday, November 9. It was resolved to hold a mixed doubles tournament on t'e same lines as last year on November 25. Messrs J. J. Marlow, J. S. Sinclair, Warren Boyd, 5. A. Brown, 11. J>. Kerr, and F. H. Campbell and the mayor (Mr A. H. Allen) wrote thanking the association for appointing them vice-presidents and enclosing donations to the funds of the association, which were accepted with thanks. Mr S. G. M'Dougall wrote thanking the association for congratulations sent him in connection with his election as president of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association. The King Edward Technical College was granted the use of the association’s courts on Tuesday afternoon. The secretary submitted a list of entries received for the interchip matches.
