A British Official Wireless message states: The first enemy air attack on Cyprus is recorded in a communique from the headquarters of the Cyprus troops: “ Hostile planes, flying at a great height, raided a town in the Morahoii Bay area on Sunday morning. The attack lasted from 11.20 a.m. to 12.2 p.m. Bombs were dropped in the sea. Later a part of the town was machine-gunned. There were no casualties and no material damage. An air raid alarm was sounded in Nicosia from 11.25 a.m. to 12.5 p.m.” A Nairobi communique states: “A South African Air Force squadron successfully attacked Birikau, in Italian Somaliland, for the second time in a week. Direct hits were obtained on ,a camp, and fires started.’ Other South African aircraft carried out normal reconnaissances. From these operations all our aircraft returned safely. Early on Saturday Italian aircraft attacked the Isioto Archers post area in Kenya. A number of bombs were dropped, ! SEIZURE OF URUGUAY NAZI PLOT THWARTED EIGHT LEADERS TO BE TRIED MONTEVIDEO, September 23. (Received September 24, at 8 a.m.) Eight Nazi leaders, including Arnulf Fuhrmann, are charged with conspiring against Uruguay’s sovereignty, and will be tried in the Supreme Court. The indictment of the Nazi Party includes an alleged military plan for the seizure of Uruguay as a German agricultural colony. [A message received on August 12 stated: The police, arrested Arnulf Fuhrmann, who confessed that he was the author of a Nazi military plan for the seizure of Uruguay ns a Gorman colony. The Uruguayan police seized correspondence showing that Fuhrmann was the leader of Anti-Semitic agitation throughout South America, and also framed plans for armed action whenever and wherever desirable.
