ST. KILDA CRICKET CLUB

The annual meeting of the St. Eildai Cricket Club was held in the St. Kilda Town Hall. In the absence of the president Mr A. Riaeh presided over a fair attendance of members. , Moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet, the Chairman congratulated the club on being first equal with North-east Valley in tha second grade B I. section. Mr B. Purvi* seconded the motion.

The following office-bearers wer« elected:—Patron, Mr F. Peacock; president, Mr D. C. Cameron ; vice-presi-dents —The Mayor (Mr J. J. Marlow), Messrs H. H. Johnson. J. M. Kennedy, D. Caradus. H. G. Allan, H. Dunne, W. Strang, G. Marston; hon. secretary* Mr M. Anderson; treasurer, Mr G. F. Hewitt; trustees, Messrs D. C. Cameron and G. F. Hewitt ; committee— Messrs Young, Purvis, Pinch. H. Allen • auditor, Mr A. Riach; delegate to Otago Cricket Association. Mr A. Riach; delegate to Otago Sports Protection Association, Mr M. Anderson,It was the opinion of those present that the endowment scheme should bo dispensed with for the duration of tha war.

The Club’s opening day will be October 5. at Culling Park.
