NEW EXECUTIVE MEETS PROGRAMME FOR SEASON APPROVEI Alembers of the new executive of'tbs Dunedin Bowling Centre held theic first meeting on Saturday night, president (Mr W. D. Richards) presiding over a good attendance. SATURDAY GAMES. Ninety-three entries had been received for Saturday games, against 90 last year, which created a bye, with, some clubs entering fewer rinks than, sufficient for one section, reported tho Draw Committee.—lt was found that it was not permisible to accepts anything but a section of three rinks, according to the rules, which would eliminate the bye, and it was decided to adhere to this rule.—lt was requested that, when possible, friendly; games with Taieri and Portobello, which would come under the scope or this decision, should be arranged, RINKS ZONED. It was recommended by the Draws Committee that for the rinks, the clubs should be divided into three zones for interplay, as follows: South Zone.—Green Island, Caversham, St. Clair, St. Kilda, Tamui, and Anderson’s Bay. _ ; ' Hill Zone.—Balmacewen, Kaituna Kaikorai, Mornington, Otago, and Roslyn. ~ r ... North Zone. Dunedin, Leitm, North-east Valley, Opoho, Logan Park, West Harbour, and Caledonian. The suggestion, after short discussion over convenience of travelling, wa* adopted. PROGRAMME ADOPTED. The ’ following Saturday programme for the season, was adopted:— November 2-December 21, club ’ matches; December 28, Christmas tourney; January 11, Dominion tourney, at Christchurch; January 25 and February 10 and 15, club matches? February 8, Southland v, Otago; Feb- ' ruary 28 and March 1, champion of champions; February 22, South Otago tournev and elderly bowlers’ day? March's and 15, club matches; March 22 and 24, Adess Shield and leads and seconds’ tourney; March 29, club matches; April 5, North Otago and South Otago; April 12-19, Easter tour- . ney. The four-rink programme was ■< set down for November 25, December ft * 9, and/16. January 27, February 4* 10. 17, and 24. SOUTHLAND GAME. A request was made by the Southland Centre that a date be arranged for the Harraway Shield tournament at Dunedin. It was pointed out that February 1 or February 8 would suit Southland.—lt was decided to accept the latter date as the more suitable. ONE-DAY TOURNAMENTS. Permission was granted the Logan Park Club to hold a one-day rink tournament on January 11, while the North-east Valley Club was granted its request to hold a one-day tournament on October 19 for funds for it* new greenGENERAL. Forty-four rinks were entered fo< Wednesday matches, it was reported. Messrs H. S. Reid and W. Richards were appointed delegates of the executive at a meeting to propose the formation of a federation of sports bodies* to be held on Thursday. It was resolved to ask clubs to lend support, through collections on opening day, to the Navy Queen campaign on a request by the Commercial , Travellers’ and Warehousemen’s Association.
