PIGEON RACING

The Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club flew a flock race from Christchurch on Saturday. Mr D. Cunningham liberated 177 birds, representing 18 lofts, in overcast weather and a south-west wind. The winning bird flew the 200 miles in 5h 23min, at a velocity of 1,101 yards per minute. The results were:—H. Millard’s Last Blue 1, W. Hargreaves’s Leith Nola and J. Ramsay’s Boon Pride (equal) 2, L. Tonks’s Hyde Lady 4, M. Anderson’s Hill Gera 5.
