Herbert Munro Hughes (18), a halfcaste Maori, died in the Te Puia Hospital yesterday from injuries received when he fell down the hold of the steamer Kopara, while assisting to discharge cargo from the vessel at Hicks Bay last week.—Gisborne Press Association. CRUSHED FOOT. George 'Kenney, an elderly married man who lives at ‘240 Oxford street, caught his foot yesterday while alighting from a tram. He was admitted to hospital at 8.30 p.m. with a crushed toe and ankle injuries.
