DEATH OF SIR DENISON ROSS (British Official Wireless.) Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY, September 22. (Received September 23, at 8 a.m.) Sir Denison Ross, who died on Friday at Istanbul, where for the last few months he had been head of the British Information Bureau, was greatly esteemed for his work as director for 20 years of the School of Oriental Studies in London University. A remarkable linguist and enthusiastic Orientalist.. Sir Denison Boss veiled widely in the East, and made many friends, Hc ivas reputed to know at least 30 languages, and could speak fluently five or six European, as well as several Eastern. He occupied the chair of Persian at London University for several years.
