NATIONAL RESERVE
BATTALION STRENGTH GROWING V ALL-DAY PARADE YESTERDAY The National Reserve Battalion now numbers 526 officers and men, while a medical board sitting is scheduled for to-night, there being 60 recruits for examination, and another 80 will be examined by the board on Thursday evening. The battalion held an all-day parade yesterday, 487 men turning out. There Was a church service in the morning at 9.15 at the Kensington barracks, the battalion then marching to Forbury, with the South Dunedin Salvation Army Band in attendance. The battalion officer commanding. Lieutenantcolonel J. MTherson, 0.8. E., headed the parade. The morning at Eorbury Park was taken up with musketry exercises, the battalion having lunch on the ground between 12 and 1 p.m. From 1 to 2.30 company drill was the order, following which the battalion formed up for inspection and then marched back to the Drill Hall with the Kaikorai Band in attendance. The men were dismissed at 4 p.m.
