CHURCH ANNUAL MEETINGS

REVENSBQURNE AND ST. LEONARDS The annual meeting of the Ravensbourne and St. Leonards congregations took place on Wednesday evening. A‘ representative gathering was present. The Rev. J. J. Cairney presided and opened the meeting with devotional exercises.

The Ikirk session report showed a year of steady work among young and old. Quarterly communion services were held, and were well attended. Individual reports from the Sunday schools, Bible classes, women’s guilds, P.W.M.U., busy bees, and girls’ clubs were read and received. Weekly Bible classes have been regularly carried on in the public schools throughout the year. The organists, Mrs Newey, Miss Cairney, Miss Trotter, and Miss and Mr Middleton, were warmly thanked for leading the praise services. The congregation at St. Leonards is under a deep debt of gratitude to Mr Isaac Stevenson for his very fine gesture in presenting a power organ to the church.

A comprehensive vote of thanks was accorded to all workers and to the minister and Mrs Cairney for their untiring labours in the interests of Christ’s church and kingdom. At the conclusion of the formal business the meeting then resolved itself into a social gathering, the ladies providing supper.
