ANNUAL CHURCH MEETING The sixty-seventh annual meeting of the Caversham. Baptist Church was held on Wednesday evening, the Rev. K. LFursdon presiding over a large attendance of members. The annual report, read by the secretary (Mr J. L. Baines) , stated: lo our pastor wo are not only indebted tor Jiis pleaching, which always has in view the practical working out of true religion in diailv life, but also for Ins example of a humble and sincere spirit ot fellowship and goodwill. Mr Fursdon seeks to maintain with great fidelity the truth as it was in Christ Jesus, and by so doino- to lead the unsaved into the way of life. To Mrs Fursdon we wish to sav how much we appreciate her hospitality and kindness shown throughout the year. The membership of the church stands at 20S, made up of 153 resident and 55 non-resident members. Additions during the year were seven—three by baptism, three by transfer, and one by vote. Losses were 10—seven by transfer and three by death. The amount handled by the treasurer from all sources totals £755. At the commencement of the year the duplex envelope svstem of giving was adopted, and has 'proved a success. The number of subscribers is 02. If all our members would prayerfully consider this method of giving there would bo no lack of fumfe for mucli-noeded repairs and tho advancement of church activities. The financial statement, which was presented by Mr R. 11. Todd, revealed a satisfactory position, all funds being in credit, ami total receipts amounting to £658. Both reports were adopted.
