CRICKET ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL REPORT The annual report of the Otago Cricket Association refers to the deatn of Mr J. M. Fraser, a former president of the association and also of the New Zealand Cricket Council. It also stated that the number of teams taking P ar J in the various grade competitions last vear was 52, comprising 8 first grade, 8 intermediate, 10 second grade A, 10 second grade B 1, 10 second grade B 2, and G third grade. There was keen competition in tho respective grades, the winners being: —_lnrst Grange; intermediate, North-east valley; second grade A, Dunedin; second grade B 1. North-cast Valley and at. Kilda equal; second grade B 2, Enterprise; third grade, Taien A. The fielding trophv was awarded to the Albion Club and the howling trophy to G. Lemhi. In the secondary schools grade the Otago Boys’ High School won all its matches. The opinion is expressed that this particular grade has succeeded in fulfilling its original Purpose, that of providing senior secondary school players with a good standard ot play and with keen competition. Blftasure is expressed that clubs had made every effort to support the endowment fund, and Messrs A. Galland, D. A. It-. Moloney, V. G. Cavanagh,_ and J. M'Mullan are thanked for their willingness to assist in the coaching of young players. Appreciation of the support accorded the association by its ground members is also expressed. The balance sheet Shows a profit on the year’s working ’of £7l 2s 3d and a bank balance of £B2 Os Cd. The main item of expenditure was the cx'penscs of tho northern
tour (£l2l 2s 9dl. while £353 10= ol a total income of £470 19s came.from ground members’ subscriptions.
