WON BY LABOUR CANDIDATE Press Association—By Telegraph—CopJ\fTgh| SYDNEY, September 18. Mr A. Williams, the official Labour candidate, won the Hyde by-election, beating Mr A. J. Mitchell by 230 votes. Mr Mitchell led on the ; primary count, but a big proportion of tho second preference for Labour in the votes for the Independent candidate* placed Mr Williams ahead, the final figures being:— Williams 10,908 Mitchell ... 10,678
