IMPORT CONTROL FIFTH-PERIOD LICENSES [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September Yl. Details of import licenses for the fifth period are now being completed by the Minister of Finance (Mr Nash), who is endeavouring to arrange to have them published by the end of the present week. During the last few weeks the Minister has lice-i engaged with Die departmental officers in completing the schedule.
BANK RATES INTEREST ON FIXED DEPOSITS [Pee United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 17. The Associated Batiks announce that the rates of interest payable on fixed deposits received or renewed on and after to-mor-row, will be as follows: Three months and under six months, J per cent. Six months and under 12 months, H per cent. Twelve months and under 24 months, 23 per cent. Twenty-four months, 23 per cent. The 12 and 24 months’ rates are unchanged, the reduction being in the three and six months’ rates. Short-term money is unemployable by the banks at the present time. DIVIDENDS AND CALLS.
