'QUIET WEDDING'

On Wednesday next Dunedin theatrelovers will be given the opportunity of seeing one of the most “ modern ” comedies of the recent London stage. 1 Quiet Wedding,’ by Esther M'Cracken, treads on dangerous ground from

the moral point of view. But the author knows her stage. While the audience is kept in a simmer of laughter at the wedding preparations that will insist on going wrong, there is always present the tender undercurrent of true love and its ups and downs. ‘ Quiet Wedding ’ is a play with violent contrasts. It swings sharply from

scintillating humour to almost tragic pathos, arid therein lies its principal attraction. Recognising that tho play calls for the best talent, the Repertory Society has got together a brilliant cast. Tinder the direction of Miss Bessie Thomson, and with the able assistance of a fairly large cast, the play promises to be an outstanding success.
