WOMEN'S HOCKEY

Mrs Sonntag presided at the final meeting of the executive for the season. It was reported that the amount of £6 19s 9d, representing the profit from the seven-a-side tournament, would be handed to the joint Red Cross-St. John appeal. * The primary schoolgirls’ tournament was held on the Oval last Saturday morning, six teams competing. Concord won, with Macandrew Road run-ners-up. At the conclusion of the tournament, the cup was presented by Mrs Sonntag, who also presented Concord with the cup for the Wednesday afternoon eleven-a-side competition. An Emergency Committee, consisting of Mrs Sonntag, Mrs Quaid, and Mr Wallace was set up to deal with any matters arising during the offseason. The members of the executive will meet the non-playing members of the Umpires’ Association in a matdh on the Oval at 2 on Saturday.
