PLEA FOR PENSIONERS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —This evening 1 read of Mr Nash’s announcement of an allowance to be made to all State employees with salaries up to £335. The high cost of living apparently does not affect pensioners. My husband, on an invalidity pension (through no fault of his own), receives once a month the handsome sum of £ls 3s 4d to pay rent, keep house, keep three babies, and myself on. Because of this handsome sum we are not entitled to the family allowance, yet a man drawing approximately £5 a week is entitled to the allowance. Surely it is time the pensioners sat up and took notice. —I .am, etc., ■Mother of Thkee. September 16.
