ST. KILDA BOROUGH

MEETING OF COUNCIL The fortnightly meeting of tho St. Eilda Borough Council was held last night, the mayor (Mr J. J. Marlow) presiding. Others present were Ors V. D. Anderson, G. Glue, W. J. Lovell, R. S. Brent, T. B. D. Roy, J. C. Cherry, J. H. Hinton, C, Longworth, and H. H. Johnson. The inspector (Air F. T. do Larger) reported having issued 89 motor drivers’ licenses and 18 heavy traffic licenses in tho fortnight ended September 14. The foreman (Air J. C. Clyma) end the plumber (Air A. N. Shepperd) reported on activities of their departments during the periods ended September 13 and 11 respectively.—The reports were adouted without discussion. The Finance Committee recommended the payment of accounts totalling £1.859 3s. Receipts were reported to be £621 10s lid. and the hank balance stood at credit, £1,334 6s 9d.— Adonted. Water consumption for the fortnight was advised at 2.320.000 gallons, at a cost of £9l 16s Bd. For the previous fortnight the cost was £95 13s sd.
