PIGEON RACING
The Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club flew a flock race from Ashburton on Saturday, 150 birds being liberated from 17 lofts at 10 a.m. in fine weather with a north-west wind. The winning bird flew the 154 miles in 3hr Bmin at a velocity of 1,441yds per minute. Results: —J. Scoullar’s Wanpee 1. A. Esquilaut’s Doris 2, W. Hargreaves’s Blurak 3, H. Millard’s Queen May 4, J. Taylor’s Belmonte 5.
