OTAGO WINS WIGLEY CUP [Per United Press Association.] INVERCARGILL. September 16. The Otago Ski Club won the Wigley Cup from the Southland Ski Club in the teams contest at Skippers Saddle, near Queenstown. The conditions were anything but ideal for ski-ing, there being rain at Queenstown and driving snow on the tops which prevented more than half the competitors and spectators making the trip further than Queenstown. Two full teams from Otago and Southland took part in the Wigley Cup contest in deep pondered snow. The best two performances by the men and women competitors of cadi team counted, and the aggregate times decided the result. Intending competitors from Timaru and Oamaru. after viewing the course, decided not to compote.
