NAVY LEAGUE (OTAGO BRANCH)
KNITTED COMFORTS During this week a large parcel of pullovers, sea-boot stockings, mittens, balaclavas, and scarves lias been despatched for distribution to the trawlers of the New Zealand mine-sweeping flotilla. •Some I’.N.V.R. men who were joining the minesweepers were also provided with sea-boot stockings. The committee again thanks the numerous knitters who have made the “ comforts.” and those, who by their subscriptions and donations to the Navy League, make this work possible. Efforts are now being concentrated on getting off a good supply to the North Sea minesweepers. This is specially necessary, as it has been learnt that, although the Dunedin eases despatched at the beginning of August are. so far as is known, still safely on their wav to Great Urtain. several cases from mother branch of the Navy l.c'eie have been lost through enemy action.
