OBITUARY

MR JOHN BOYD The death took place this week after a long illness of Mr John Boyd, of Plunket street, Dunedin, aged 54 years. Born in County Antrim, Ireland, Mr Boyd landed in New Zealand 36 years ago, and for a number of years was engaged in farming in South Otago. Later ho entered the employ of the Dunedin City Corporation tramways department, and for over 22 years was engaged in the tramway service as a conductor. He was keenly interested in swimming, and for several years was particularly active in coaching young children. He was a member of the Court Pride of the Leith Foresters at Balclutha, where he passed through all the chairs. Mr Boyd is survived by his wife, five daughters, and five sons.
