Hitherto a man's chief aim in effecting a Policy of Life Assurance lias been the provision of a definite Capital Sum which will free him from concern as to what may happen to his dependants after his death; but it is rarely possible for a young man to make sufficient provision for premature death, since the cost of an Assurance, large enough to provide an adequate income tor his widow, might prove prohibitive. Now he is enabled to take a clearer view of the future, thanks to the development of “ Income insurance,” whereby he himself can assume the responsibility of the proper distribution of the proceeds of his Life Policy, instead of placing these burdens on one who, perhaps, may be quite unfitted for the task. At age 25 next birthday an annual premium of £43 16s 6d w-ill provide in the event of death within 20 years:— (1) A guaranteed income of £2OO a year to continue till the end of 20 years from the date of effecting the policy. (2) A fash payment of £2,000 when the Annuity ceases. In the event of survivance for 20 years:— (1) Future premiums reduced to £2l 18s 3d. (2) £2,000 payable at death. The scheme ensures the largest benefit where the need is greatest at a minimum cost.
