COMBINED PUBLIC SERVICE TEAM GAME WITH VARSITY A The selectors (Messrs W- Pearson, C. Quuid, and Sergeant F. Johnson) have selected the following team to represent the Public Service in a match against University A at Carisbrook on Saturday, September 21, the proceeds being devoted to the patriotic funds: — Full-back; E. Black (Police and Dunedin Club). Three-quarters: B. Taylor (Agriculture Department and Alhambra), G. A. Murray (Education Department and Taieri), D. Murray (Education Department and Kaikorai). Five-eighths: J. Mehalski (P. and T. Department and Zingari-Richmond), M. Spillane (P. and T. Department and Dunedin). Half-hack: W. Baillic (Education Department and Kaikorai). Forwards: T. Wallace (Railway and Southern), R M'Lay (Railway and Pirates), A. Cursey (Railway and Taieri). V. Aitken (Valuation Department and Kaikorai), C. Collett (P. and T. Department and Dunedin), R. Nipper (Railway and Southern, captain), J. Walker (Police and Union), and J. Douglas (Railway -and Southern). Emergencies.—Backs; D. Hodden (Railway and Dunedin), J. Robertson (Education Department and Training College), E. Barabithe (Railway and Zingari-Richmond). Forwards: L. Scully (Railway and Dunedin). W Ireland (Railway and Union), I. Hay (Transport and Kaikorai). The team is asked to report at Carisbrook for training at 5 p.m. on Tuesday next. Players who are not available are requested to notify the secretary (Mr G.
