PROTECTION OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN

The usual monthly meeting of the above society was held in the Council Chamber. Town Hall, on Wednesday, there being present Dr M'Kinnon (in the chair), the mayoress (Mrs A. H. Allen), Mesdames Downing, Aslin, Todd, Park, Miss Runciman, Sister Elinor, Rev. W. A. Curzon-Siggers, and the secretary (Miss.Coo-Smith). The president (Dr M'Kinnon) extended a welcome to Sister Elinor, who was elected a member of the committee. It was resolved to forward a letter to the Minister of Justice asking for the installation of women police. The Secretary’s report was read and discussed. Maintenance money and social security benefits collected and disbursed amounted to £153 6s Bd.
