ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS

SEAMAN’S INJURY. Harold Lewis, a seaman, suffered an injured back when he fell on board his ship last night. He was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital at 10.30 p.m. FATAL INJURIES TO MINER. Thomas Randall Carson, a married man, aged 41, died in Balclutha Hospital yesterday as the result of injuries received iu an accident at the Kaitangata coal mine. Carson was working m the mine about 11 a.in. on Monday, wheu lie was struck by a fall of stone and coal from the roof He received a fractured skull and other injuries, and was moved to the Balclutha Hospital. He failed to regain consciousness, and death took place about 3 p.m. yesterday. He leaves a family of seven children.
