THE ARMY QUEEN Friday’s community sing appeal will be for the Army Queen, Airini. It will be an Army day with real Array songs, including ‘ New Zealand Boys are Marching,’ * Thumbs Up.’ Airini will be present and take part in the sing, and will have Mrs Dora Smeaton (lady-in-waiting) in attendance. The Dunedin Community Sing Committee is always willing to assist in patriotic efforts, and is helping Otago to raise the £IOO,OOO. Donations and cheerios from staffs of firms and citizens should be sent to Mr J. F. Himburg, care of Begg’s, and will be acknowledged over the air. Mr H. P. Desmoulins will be leader, with Air Alf. Pettitt at the piano. Flowers are always acceptable for the stall. The sing will be held in the Strand Theatre, commencing at noon.
