CO-OPERATIVE CONTRACTS
WATERSIDE RS' RESENTMENT EMPHATIC PROTEST ENTERED [Pee United Press Association,] WELLINGTON, September 11. A stop-work meeting of Wellington watersiders this morning, which was attended by over 700 men, passed a resolution viewing with grave concern and entering an emphatic protest against the imposition of the “ socalled ” co-operative contract system, which “ deprived a large number of members who assisted in the work from participating in the benefits. _As a party to the contract, but with no knowledge of its contents, the union felt that a continuance under the present conditions would ultimately undermine and destroy the humane and beneficial working conditions obtained by the sacrifice of past members.”
