MATCH RACE OFF
BEAULIVRE AHD BEAU ViTE Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, September 10. Tiie match race between Beaulivre and Beau Vite has suddenly been declared off. The committee controlling the Red Cross races on September 21 reconsidered the matter to-day (it is believed in consultation with the A.J.C.), and the announcement was made to-night of the abandonment of the fixture so as not to jeopardise the prospects of the important engagements of either horse at the forthcoming spring racing campaign. The committee, in expressing appreciation of the spontaneous offer of Messrs Hartnett and Stewart, the respective owners of the horses, to provide a match race, announced that, in place of it, £SOO would be added to the Hill Stakes, in which it is expected Beaulivre and Beau Vito will participate, and which should provide them with a test race.
