A CARTOON QUESTIONED.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Concerning the cartoon, in this evening’s ‘ Star ’ of Hitler and the statue of Liberty, I wonder where the author of this cartoon keeps his sense of decency. To have any man standing on the. Stars and Stripes is an insult to any American, and I wish to point out to your cartoonist that the American flag is respected in U.S.A., if not by him.—l am, etc., Yank. September 7. [Our correspondent misses the point of the cartoon, which portrays what would happen “if Liberty lost her light.”—Ed. E.S.]
