London bombed again. Raid lasts for nearly 10 hours. Number of fires started and two hospitals damaged. Hitler engaged in race against English weather. Trying to gain air superiority in week or so. Polish air squadron gives good account of itself in Saturday’s battles over London. Royal Air Force bombs important targets in Hamburg. Germans admit raid. Twenty-two schools operating in Canada under the 'Empire air training scheme. Nazis estimated to have lost 1,688 aircraft from June 17 to September 6. Leased air and naval bases to America by Britain form complete strategic chain. The ‘ Now Zealand Herald’s ’ aeroplane fund has now been closed. The total subscribed was £33,687.
