SENT TO GAOL
PLEA OF WORK IN CAMP FAILS [Pee United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, September 29. Ten days with hard labour and disqualified for two years was the sentence passed on Thomas Majurey (40), an engine driver, for intoxication in charge of a car on Saturday last. He pleaded guilty. Defending counsel asked that Uo he not sent to gaol as he was working a road excavator at the Papakura military camp.
The Magistrate said he could not believe there was such a dearth of drivers foar these machines.
