TAIERI COMPETITIONS
DEMONSTRATION CONCERT The Coronation Hall, Mosgicl, was crowded last night on the occasion of the demonstration concert and prize-, giving—the final session of the Taieri Competitions Festival. Mr W. P. Hartstonge (mayor) presided and presented the prizes. He complimented the committee on the success of the festival. Mr H. W. Wilson wrote expressing his pleasure that his cup for national dancing had been won by a local competitor. The president (the Rev. J. N. Goodman) thanked all who had helped in any way to make the competitions successful. The following was the programme:— Playette, ‘ The Armchair,’ Mrs E. Brown; one-net play, ‘ White Queen, Red Queen,’ Green Island Women’s Institute. . The following omission was inadvertently made from the list prizes’ awarded: —Master K. Kenyon, equal with Misses J. Wylie and G. Smith for local competitor with highest marks in juvenile piano solos. The omission was due to the fact that Master Kenyon was thought to he a resident of the city.
