He could not state- a definite ' date for the conclusion of the session, but he expected it to run for another full week. . Measures which are expected to provoke discussion are the Reserve Bank Amendment Bill, which.: embodies the major phase of the Government’.s war finance policy, the Land and. Inctnle Tax Amendment Bill, the Fair Renta Amendment Bill, and the Primary Pro* ducts Marketing Amendment BilL These Bills will probably comprise the major programme for the coming week.; it is possible that amendments to the Social Security' Act will 'be brought down to-day. The Bill does not contain any changes of policy, and i» mostly confined to machinery clause* designed to correct anomalies. ; It* most important feature is a clause putting into operation, the arrangement made between the Government and the British Medical Association in respect to maternity contracts. . : . The social security contribution, of Is in the pound is not dealt with, this finally disposing of * persistent rumour that the charge is to be increased. Another new Bill will be the Visitino- Forces Bill, which is patterned ott the British Act in respect of visiting British forces. Urgency will be taken to-night for the passing of the Customs Act Amendment Bill, the Statutes Amendment Bill, the Rural Housing Bill, and tK* Pharmacy Bill.
