DUNEDIN SWIMMING CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING MR 8. KEM RE-ELECTED PRESIDENT Tlxo nineteenth, annual meeting of the above club was held last evening, Mr B. Kerr presiding over a fair attendance of members. In moving the adoption of the annual report, the Chairman covered briefly the activities of the past seaeon, and several suggestions were placed before the meeting for the attention of the incoming committee. •In seconding the motion, Mr E. H. James referred to the excellent coaching system, and stressed the fact that although it was the primary consideration of the club to teach the young, the fact that there was excellent ma- . lerial for future champions must not be overlooked. ( In speaking to the motion, Mr C. W. Ingram and Mr D. C. Bannatyne appealed to members to take advantage of the Royal Life Saving Society’s • classes of instruction. The president of the Otago Swimming Centre (Mr W. A. Jenkins) referred to the necessity of teaching the juniors, especially since so many of the club’s seniors had volunteered, and in wishing the club success for the forthcoming season he suggested that, as tho ; national senior championships were open to all swimmers over the age of 16, they should not be abandoned.
