DECREASES RECORDED (British Official Wireless.) Frew Association —By Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY, September 25. According to an announcement by the Minister of Health (Mr W. E. Elliot), the total number of persons in receipt of relief at the end of June was 1,031,421 —a decrease of 42,554 compared with the corresponding total at the end of March and a decrease of 8,931 compared with the end of June; 1938. With the exception of increases following the Easter and Whitsun holidays, there was a continuous decrease of persons receiving relief throughout the quarter ended June 30.
