SOUTH DUNEDIN COMMUNITY SING

The South Dunedin community sing is now drawing to a close, and the South Dunedin Business Men’s Association is gratified) that the sings have met with such success. Under the leadership of Mr R. M'Kenzie, Dr Noel North, and Mrs B. Cameron these sings have been a bright attraction, and have been looked forward to not only by Dunedin people, but by listeners-in from far and wide. The committee thanks all supporters, helpers, artists, and 4YA. Much pleasure has been derived from the sings by the folk in the country, and also many messages of cheer have gone regularly to hospitals and those who have been confined to bed. The final night has been arranged for Saturday in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall, when the leaders, in recognition of their, service, will be made a presentation. The final, .allocation of the funds will be _ made to local charities, and _ it is gratifying to know that this little help will bring comfort to those in need. A varied programme has been arranged. Miss Gwen Webster’s pupils will give a ballet, and Mr Honie Smith (yodelling cowboy) will again entertain. Mr Snell will sing two numbers and Mr 0. W. Draper, of Waihola, will also give items. 4YA will broadcast the programme.
