“WET” CANTEENS IN CAMPS

I ■ A PRESBYTERIAN PROTEST [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 26. The Presbyterian Chaplains’ Committee, at a meeting in Wellington to-day, passed • the following resolution: — “ That this meeting of the Presbyterian Chaplains Advisory Board, with representatives from the Advisory Committees of the four centres—all men with war experience—regrets to hear the suggestion of the introduction of wet canteens into New Zealand military camps, as it is our cbhviction that the experience of the last war showed the grave dangers attending wet canteens in camps and on transports, and also because it would profoundly disturb a large body of opinion in the community as a whole. It is further resolved that copies of this resolution be sent to the Prime Minister and the Minister <sf Defence.”
