WOMEN'S HOCKEY
OTAGO ASSOCIATION An executive meeting was held last evening at which there were present Mrs Sonntag (in the chair), Misses Morton, Warburton. Harley, and Fairburn, and Mr Wallace. It was reported that the A grade representative match against Central Otago had been cancelled owing to the fact that the Central players, who live over a widely-scattered area, could not got transport to Alexandra, due to the petrol restrictions. , The schoolgirls’ seven-a-side tournament, which was postponed last Saturday owing to wet will now be played on Saturday at 9.45. An Emergency Committee was appointed to carry on during the summer months. _ C Grade Representative Match.-—lho Manageress reported on the match against West Taieri at Outram, which resulted in a draw, 2 all. The game was played in a very sporting spirit, and it was a pleasure to watch these junior players in action. All players showed decided promise, and could have easilv filled positions in a higher grade. The West Taieri Club had entertained he team at afternoon tea. Arrangements for Carnival.—All players are asked to attend the opening of the carnival on Wednesday evening to assist with stalls. Helpers will be required nightly for the duration of the carnival.
