TAIERI FLOOD
OUTRAM SERVICE STILL SUSPENDED WATER RECEDING VERY SLOWLY Flood waters in the vicinity of Riven side caused by the sudden rise of th» Taieri River on Friday night are receding very slowly. • , • ■ This morning there were 27m of water on the railway line between Gladfield and Riverside, and the OutramMosgiel trains are again unable to run,The greatest amount of water which can lie on the track and permit the running of services is about 14in, and at the Tate of the present fall it seems as if it will be a day or two before the trains are in operation again The soaked nature of the soil is undoubtedly retarding the disappearance of the water.
