WRESTLING

MXREADY BEATS FINDER fPEu United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, September 25. Forced to .use his superior strength to offset the speed and versatility of his opponent, Earl M'Cready was fully extended in retaining his British Empire title against the challenge from Prince Bru Finder, For the greater part of the contest M'Oready had difficulty in coping with the elusive Indian, and it was only in the seventh round, when he resorted to forearm jolts that he subdued Finder sufficiently to take the only fall of the match.

BLOMFIELD BEATS WRIGHT [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 25. Lawless matcraft kept the referee busy , when “ Lofty ” Blomfield wrestled Rube Wright to-night. Blomfield won by two falls to one. Wright incurred a penalty for the illicit use of his knee in the thin! round, but revenged himself immediately by jolting Blomfield groggy and pinning him. Blomfield took the deciding fall in round seven with his octopus clamp, to •which Wright submitted. There was a large crowd. The referee was kept consistently checking infringements, mainly fisticuffs and knee Jolts. The hout was more an affair of violence than of science.
