FIRE BOARD MEETING The quarterly meeting last night was presided over by, Mr E. H. Ferguson (chairman). others P refient being Messrs S. E. T. Crimp and Macsuperintendent of the City Brigade had taken water pressure tests in the borough with the assistance of the borough engineer. The results of the tests were enclosed.—Received. The Superintendent reported that the .r e nr was in good order. The membership was down to 10. Fireman Haw-
kins had left the district. The brigade held live roll calls and three practice* and two' meetings with an average attendance of eight members. One of_ th* practices was at pumping water from the harbour at Carey Bay with two leads from the pump. At lihe brigade’s recent annual meeting Junior Foreman Gibbs, was promoted to senior foreman, and Fireman W. Johnstone to junior foreman. —The superintendent was instructed to enrol two more firemen. An additional motor driver was appointed. It was decided to ask the BorougK Council to disc mark and circle mark the fire plugs; also that a map showing the location of the plugs he displayed in ■ the fire station. Accounts totalling. £22 13s 3d wero passed for payment. *■
