The Pan-Pacific Surgical Congress terminated with an address by the president, Dr Hardie Neil, on 1 The History of Early Medical Education in the Pacific.’ Dr Peter Buck, on behalf of New Zealand throat surgeons, presented Dr Chevalier Jackson with the Maori emblem of leadership. Dr Jackson was also presented with a boomerang by the Australian profession. Dr Reichert, of San Francisco, was elected president and Dr Dawson (Dun edin) and Dr FI. Poate (Sydney) were elected vice-presidents.
