BELGIUM DETERMINED
RESISTANCE TO AGGRESSION FRONTIER DEFENCES MANNED LONDON September 24. (Received September 25, at 1 p.m.) The Brussels correspondent of ‘ The Times ’ says tho Burgomaster (M. Max), leading tho commemoration of tho Belgian revolution in 1830, declared: “ We aro determined to resist any now violation of our territory, and shall not allow ourselves to bo impressed by threats.”
Reuter’s Brussels representative says the defences are camouflaged and artillery' and machine-guns have boon strongly installed and permanently manned along the Belgian frontier roads.
‘Lo Soir’s ’ correspondent on the Belgian-Gorman frontier near Saintvith describes unusual quietude in Germany, where villages are deserted. The Germans aro still working to complete the Siegfried Lino. Twenty German soldier's to whom he spoke did not know of the French offensive, and were completely ignorant regarding the war. They wore convinced normal conditions njould return within a week.
