VCLUHTARY AID DETACHMENTS The Hospital Committee of the Otago Hospital Board reports that a committee consisting of the chairman of the board, medical superintendent, the matron, and a representative of the local branches of the Commandory of St. John and the New Zealand Red Cross Society has been set tip to report on tho proposal from the' DirectorGeneral of Health for the inauguration and supervision of a scheme whereby Voluntary Aid Detachments may receive training in hospital work so that they may be of use in times of emergency. A letter from tho Medical and Public Health Committee of the Emergency Precaution Organisation for a number of the members of the St. John Nursing Divisions to receive practical training, as for instance, ward assistants, has been referred to the above committee.
