That the Maoris of Wanganui support the Government’s defence policy was a decision reached at a meeting of representatives of the Wanganui tribe in the Native Land Court. The following resolution was carried unanimously: “ That tho Wanganui tribe fully supports the Government’s defence policy in the present crisis, and offers wholeheartedly the services of its people for active service, and strongly urges that all Maoris serve in a separate unit.”
