ROBBERY FROM TRAIN

EMPTY BAG FOUND ON RAILWAY TRACK In connection with the theft of, approximately £3OO from the southbound express on Thursday afternoon, the police have been informed that the small bag which had contained th« money and which had been abstracted from the mail bag, has been foupd by a surfaceman on the railway track near Otokia. A sheath from a knife, which may or may not be associated with the occurrence, was also found in the vicinity. A small portion of the stolen money was in £3 notes and the balance in £1 and 10s notes. The police are anxious to get in touch with any passengers who were travelling in the last two carriages on the express on Thursday.
