SUPERSTITION EXPLODED
BOUGHT TICKET ON FRIDAY FIFTH PRIZE TO DUNEDIN Winner of the fifth prize of £3OO in the “ Lucky Future ” Art Onion is Mr George Burnett, whose ticket bore the nom de plume of “ Gee Bee.” Mr Burnett, who is a tailor, carrying on business at 34 Moray Place, purchased the lucky ticket from Mrs A. A. Tointon, at the Old English Tea Shoppe in Dowling street, almost by chance. And to those who are inclined to be superstitious, let it be said that the purchase was made on a Friday, Mr Burnett, remaining in town for tea that night, went to the little tea shop, and on the way out noticed a couple of art union books on the counter, which prompted him to buy two tickets—-one for himself and one for his wife. •! This is the first time I have had a windfall of this kind, although I have taken a ticket occasionally before,’ he remarked to a 1 Star ’ _ reporter. It is worthy of mention, too, that the seller of the'ticket, Mrs Tointon, was herself only one off the number that took fifth prize.
