JAPANESE OFFENSIVES
REPULSED BY CHINESE HEAVY LOSSES INFLICTED \ Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, September 22. (Received September 23, at 8 a.m.) The Associated Press correspondent at Hongkong says the Chinese repulsed Japanese offensives and inflicted heavy losses in Hupeh, Hunan, and Kaingsi and recaptured strategic towns in North-west Changsha. It is asserted that Japanese airmen bombed 15 cities and destroyed 1,000 buildings in Loyang.
