DRUIDISM
In the absence of the Aren Druid, J.P.A. Bro. A. S. Stewart presided over the regular meeting of Enterprise Lodge, which was held last Wednesday, when a good attendance of members and visitors was reported. The bards’ report disclosed that there is still a large amount of sickness amongst the members, and sick pay amounting to £24 was passed for payment. Amongst the correspondence was an invitation from Mistletoe Lodge to attend its social evening, which was accepted. The committee appointed to arrange for the diamond jubilee held its first meeting, and reported to the lodge the proEosed functions to be held, this report eing adopted. During the evening P.D.P. Bro. A Ockwell presented P.A. Bro. Harris with a Past Arch collar on behalf of the lodge for having passed through the chairs for a second time, Bro. Harris thanking the lodge and intimating that he intended to seek higher office at a later date. The business of the lodge was quickly disposed of, and after an enjoyable hour at cards supper was served. Arch Druid Bro. R. A. Reid presided over a good attendance of members at the last meeting of Mistletoe Lodge, held m St. Mark’s Hall, Green Island. It being the lodge’s anniversary, routine business was quickly despatched, and
members joined a large number of visitors and friends in the main hall, where a most enjoyable evening was spent. The entertainment took the form of dancing and items supplied by the Coronation Concert Party, under the leadership of P.A. Bro. 11. Middlemiss. Items were given by the following:—• Miss M. Bachop, Mrs Megan, Messrs D. White, and M. Sargison (songs), Mies
E. Sevan (Irish jig), Miss A. Wheeler (tap dance), Mr E. Hooper (cowboy yodeller), Mr Pellet (piano accordion), dance music (saxophone), W. Beissei (drum, etc.), and E. King (extras). Mr Bachop was an efficient M.C. The accompanists for vocal items were Mrs Sargison, Messrs E. King and Pellet. Arch Druid Bro. Culling presided over the fortnightly meeting of the
Otago Lodge. One candidate was is* sued the usual certificate and was successfully initiated into the order with a pleasant rendering of the ceremony by the officers. After supper all present enjoyed table teunis and cards. Welcome visitors included Bros. M'Klweo (Palmerston), Morrison . (Linden), , luglis (Valley), and Burt (Mornington) .
